All over social media, everyone seems to be taking part in the ten-year challenge, and it's fair to say that some of the before/after pictures have been pretty interesting. In case you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks, and have never heard of it before, the ten-year challenge is a game in which participants make each other share two side-by-side photographs of themselves ten years apart; one from 2009 and one from 2019, to show their social media followers how hard ageing has hit them over the space of a decade.

Some have had to lament the fact that they've gotten older and wrinklier, while others have matured with age like fine wine. However, some lucky people, however, looked good back in 2009, and now look good in 2019. One of these is 17-year-old French model Thylane Blondeau, who was a child model who became famous at the age of just seven for a beautiful appearance, and who was named 'Most Beautiful Girl in the World' back in 2009.

Now, Thylane has taken to Instagram to share her own 10-year challenge with her many social media followers. She posed the side-by-side picture of herself as a kid as now as a young adult, and captioned the pic: "#10yearchallenge !!! And thanks for 2.9M!!! [sic]" The post in question has since managed to accrue over 420,000 likes.

In an interview with French magazine L’Officiel back in 2018, Thylane opened up about her ambivalence to the moniker which made her a celebrity.

"Firstly: I do not consider myself the most beautiful girl in the world!" she stated, "When I was little, people always told me. But I did not even understand what they meant. Because who says that? Who says I am the most beautiful? I can not do anything with it. I can not do anything about how I look. This is who I am."

"Fortunately, I have a number of lovely people around me with whom I am very close. In addition, I am very shy. You probably noticed that already. I am very normal, though! At least, I experience my life as normal. I live in southern France. And I have my friends here. Just like my peers. I feel as old as them. But my friends sometimes point out that I lead a different life. But I do not feel that way. I also live at home, nice with my mother. You know, my mother is everything to me. I will never live alone! Never!"

She also spoke about her love of Instagram, stating: "I love Instagram! I have many followers and I also think that I should offer them something. I have a private life and a public life, but they are completely mixed up. But I grew up with it. I do not know better! I’m only seventeen, right? I have no problem with it. I even like it! And it is important for my career."

It's debatable as to whether anyone is the 'most beautiful' anything in the world. But personally, I think Thylane comes close. Still, I don't think I'll be posting my own ten-year-challenge anytime soon. Mine would be a lot more embarrassing.
