A Utah couple were found dead on Thursday afternoon in what investigators believe may have been a murder-suicide.

Olin Johnson, 57, is accused of fatally shooting his wife Kerilyn Johnson, 52, before turning the gun on himself.

The couple, who had celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in April and who share six children, were found dead in their $1.34-million American Fork, Utah home, according to KUTV.

The chilling final Facebook post made by Olin has also been revealed, which he made just two days before their deaths.

Alongside a series of photos of him on his motorcycle, Olin wrote: "No matter how crappy a person I am, motorcycles always love me back. Oh and skiing. Skiing loves me too."

Police have not disclosed a motive for the killing, but confirmed it was a family member that found the couple's bodies in the home.

Neighbours had said they did not notice anything unusual about the couple the night before their deaths, as they had played softball together, and said Olin had spoken about future plans according to the outlet.

His Facebook profile often featured his wife and children, including a recent trip to Australia as a couple where they celebrated Kerilyn's birthday.

The American Fork Police said: "The family is requesting privacy as they grieve their loss. We express our most profound and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Olin and Kerilyn."

Kerilyn's friend, Gayle Lockwood, told KUTV: "Kerilyn was literally one of the most generous, kind, supportive people that I have ever known."

She added: "She is a light that will be missed in the world."

A GoFundMe has been set up in the wake of the couple's deaths, with a friend writing: "With the sudden passing of Olin and Kerilyn Lowe Johnson many are devastated and desire to show love and support to their six children as they navigate this tragedy.

"It is hoped that they would not need to shoulder the financial burden of paying for funeral expenses and other unexpected costs over the coming weeks and months.”

Currently, over $59,000 has been raised from a target of $100,000.

Our thoughts are with the couple's children and loved ones at this difficult time.
