A four-month-old baby has tragically died after temperatures in Arizona reached a high of 120°F during the July 4 weekend.

The infant, identified as Tanna Rae Wroblewski, had been out on a boat in Lake Havasu with family when she suddenly "lost consciousness" on Friday (July 5) evening, according to a GoFundMe created by a family friend.

The parents performed CPR on their baby girl while waiting, before "Lake Havasu City Fire Department quickly arrived to take over life-saving procedures".

The little girl was then rushed to Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital "where they did everything in their power to revive her, but God had other plans, and took Tanna to heaven that night".

A heartbreaking tribute statement was shared on the fundraiser page, which read: "Tanna Rae Wroblewski, our real-life angel, became an angel in heaven. We are beyond devastated, heartbroken; there are just no words."

"July 5, 2024 - The Wroblewski's experienced the unthinkable. Enjoying a family day on the lake turned into the most unimaginable day of their lives," they continued. "Our precious baby girl gave us her last smiles and we gave her our last kisses. We will never understand why you had to leave so soon, you were just too perfect."

"The Wroblewski's are surrounded by so much support, love, family, and friends. You would never expect the unthinkable to happen, and have to plan a funeral for your sweet baby girl at the shy age of four months old. All of your love, thoughts, and prayers are truly appreciated as they are going through the most difficult, unimaginable time in their lives," they concluded.

As of this writing, $48,920 has been raised, surpassing the $25,000 goal.

Tanna's cause of death is yet to be released by a medical examiner, but authorities suspect it could be a heat-related illness, as reported by News 12.

"On Friday, July 5 at approximately 5:10 p.m., a four-month-old child was transported from a boat on Lake Havasu to Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center for a heat-related illness,” Anita Mortensen, a spokesperson for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department, said in a statement to KJZZ.

During Independence Day weekend, the Lake Havasu region warned the public that temperatures would skyrocket for the first time in nearly 40 years, with temperatures hitting highs of 120° Fahrenheit starting Friday.

According to AccuWeather, it is expected to continue reaching the 110s through the middle of July.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office revealed that they are still investigating the little girl’s death.

Our thoughts are with Tanna's family and friends at this time.
