While the old platitude informs us that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, western society clearly prizes some conceptions of attractiveness above others. Certainly, with the endless amount of models we see on the daily - all of whom sport long, lithe limbs and are retouched to perfection - it's easy to feel as if you fall short. And it looks like it's going to stay this way... well, until the technology gods create a round-the-clock face-tuning filter.
However, some of us should be thankful that we even
improved since childhood. Puberty can be a wonderful thing; after all the angst, breakouts and hormones have calmed down, you can end up being more of a butterfly than a caterpillar.
