A family from the town of Canton in North Carolina have been left stunned by the appearance of a little puppy their German Shepherd dog gave birth to after the newborn pooch emerged from the womb with vividly lime green fur all over its body.

According to a recent news report by ABC News 13 WLOS, Shana Stamey saw that their dog Gypsy had given birth to a litter on Friday, January 10. When they saw that one of the mutts was bright green, they affectionately named him 'Hulk,' and took a number of pics of his unusual appearance. And the stunning appearance of Hulk has already made him a viral sensation on Twitter, where people have been expressing their surprise and addition for the pup.

Commenting on the little dog in a later interview, Stamey stated: "[Hulk is a] good luck charm. We think so. He's pretty special. I knew it wasn't like harmful. But I still had to look it up again to make sure."

Meanwhile, Junaluska Animal Hospital veterinarian technician Suzanne Cianciulli explained that Hulk's odd fur color was due to fluid in his mother's womb staining him in-utero, stating: "The sack that they're in when they're in their mom, there can be meconium in there and that tends to stain them."

However, this isn't the first time we've written about a dog with atypical looks. Check out this piece we penned all about Narwhal, the dog born with a 'unicorn tail.'
