Now, I dislike flying for many reasons, most notably the food, the cramped conditions, and the fact I'm sitting in a giant metal bird that could explode at any second. But now it seems I need to keep my eyes open for a new danger: scorpions.
Per TMZ, a female passenger has been stung by a scorpion while traveling on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Atlanta.
Ever wondered what would win in a duel between a snake and a scorpion - well, these impressive creatures are equipped for battle:

During the Thursday morning flight, the woman became alarmed when she felt a stinging sensation in her leg. Opting to inspect the issue in privacy, the woman went to the restroom where the pain in her leg intensified.
Then - in a bizarre moment I still cannot quite get my head around - a scorpion fell out of her pant leg, still alive, and scurried across the floor.
Fortunately, the minibeast was eventually caught by flight attendants before it could harm any other passengers.

Speaking to the BBC, a representative from United Airlines has responded, saying:
"After learning that one of our customers on flight 1554 from San Francisco to Atlanta was stung during flight, our crew responded immediately and consulted with a MedLink physician on the ground who provided medical guidance. Upon landing in Atlanta, the flight was met by medical personnel and the customer was transported to a local hospital. We have been in contact with our customer to ensure her wellbeing."
Just imagine having one of these in your pants...

Fortunately, the woman is going to be absolutely fine. But it just goes to show you, if Samuel L. Jackson is interested in a Snakes On A Plane sequel, I've got a cracking idea...
