Two actors portraying cricket legend Shane Warne and his wife were sent to the hospital after a steamy scene went horribly wrong.
Sex scenes on TV are becoming ever more of a common thing, especially since the rise of Game of Thrones where it seemed almost impossible to get through the hour without seeing someone getting hot and heavy.
Have you ever considered what goes into filming those scenes? Intimacy directors are being used more and more to ensure that actors are comfortable, but even that wouldn't have helped the unlucky duo on the upcoming series of Warnie.
The series follows the life of Shane Warne, but things had to be put on hold after actors Alex Williams, 33, and Marny Kennedy, 29, were rushed to the hospital following a pretty embarrassing incident.
As revealed in a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph, Kennedy explained how the pair sustained pretty nasty injuries during a sex scene.
"It was during a little makeout scene from when they (Shane and Simone) were younger," Kennedy said. "We were going down a corridor and we were meant to push into the bedroom and land on the bed, but we both completely missed the bed."
As easy a mistake as this sounds, it resulted in Williams cracking the back of his head open while Kennedy was left with a broken wrist.
"We ended up sitting in the emergency room together, he with a bandage around his head and me with my wrist strapped," Kennedy continued.
Seeing the funny side, the actress explained that the hospital was for "elderly" people so they looked pretty out of place, still in costume.
"It was just Alex and I with our bleached hair, fully still in wardrobe, sitting there surrounded by elderly residents," she said.
The pair then printed pictures of themselves in the ER onto mugs and handed them out to the cast and crew as a memento of the painful, but funny situation.
The show is set to follow the rise and fall of Warne, as he navigates his life from becoming one of the best cricketers in the sport to his untimely death in March last year.
The show has been met with a mixed response, including from Warne's eldest daughter Brooke.
As per News.com.au, Brooke branded the show "beyond disrespectful" to her family, and she wasn't alone in her feelings about the miniseries.
One Twitter used penned: "Does anyone else think it’s too soon for a 'Warnie' show on @Channel9? He hasn’t even been gone for 15 months, and already the show seems filmed and ready to release. How quickly after his passing did someone go 'Yep it’s time to make a show on his life'? Or am I too nit-picky?"
The show is set to air on July 25, but it seems like it's causing unwanted stress for both those involved and the Warne family.
