Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston may have teamed up for several movies together, but that doesn't mean they have great sexual chemistry.

The 56-year-old Waterboy actor and the 54-year-old former Friends star have worked together on three projects - 2011's Just Go With It, 2019's Murder Mystery, and this year's Murder Mystery 2.

Despite having known each other for years, Sandler told USA Today that the pair are still lowkey awkward with each other, especially when it comes to puckering up.

In fact, Sandler seemed to imply that Aniston was slightly too enthusiastic when it came time to film their kissing scene in the Murder Mystery sequel, which follows the story of husband and wife private investigator duo Nick and Audrey Spitz as they investigate their friend's abduction.

"'For God's sake, keep your mouth closed,'" Sandler recalled saying to Aniston. "It was so wide! Every time, she'd come with a big, wide mouth, and I'd be like, 'Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho, whoa! What are we doing?'"

He also revealed that there were several scenes where he was injured, telling the outlet: "Jennifer kicked me in the ribs one take," adding that Mark Strong - who plays a member of the British Special Air Service (SAS) in the flick - accidentally hit him in the face during a fight scene.

Aniston quipped that they were "all accidents," with Sandler explaining that Mark obviously "didn't mean it, but it did happen. He cracked me good."

The interview became slightly awkward when Sandler casually mentioned he'd gifted his Grown Ups co-stars - Chris Rock, David Spade, and Kevin James - Maseratis after filming the 2010 family comedy. Clearly, Aniston was in shock, as she'd not received one. Sandler then stated: "You didn't get the Maserati yet? When you get home tonight!"

Aniston - clearly still in shock - then said: "You bought your co-stars Maseratis?", before pretending to walk out of the interview.

"You want to know the truth with Jennifer? I bought her three Ferraris," he joked. "Every time I wheel it up there, some guy comes out and goes, 'Hey, get that out of here,' and I'm like, 'No, no, this is a gift.' And the guy goes, 'Let's go, keep it moving.' So I ghost-ride it down the hill," Sandler added.

While the pair might not have so much chemistry when it comes to smooching, they definitely love to joke around and have a seriously sweet friendship. Aniston even poked fun at her co-star when he turned up to the premiere of Murder Mystery 2 wearing a sweatshirt.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Aniston couldn't help but comment on Sandler's outfit choice, saying: "What the hell are you doing?! I'm not standing next to him. Sweatpants."

"You said it, you texted me, 'Please wear your sweatshirt,'" he hilariously responded, before Aniston clarified: "I said, 'Please don't wear your sweatshirt.'"

Murder Mystery 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
