Jennifer Aniston has been recently called out over some comments she made about her intimacy scene with co-star Jon Hamm.

During an interview with Variety, the Friends star was asked by the interviewer if she and Hamm, 52, wanted to work with an intimacy coordinator for a raunchy scene on The Morning Show.

The scene in question debuted on Apple TV+ on October 11 and sees the 54-year-old actress, who plays news anchor Alex Levy on the show, and her co-star Jon Hamm, who plays tech billionaire Paul Marks, get down and dirty in a risqué scene that left us all a little speechless, honestly.

The pair are seen making out before things get a little more intimate as they strip down and show off their incredible physiques. During another part of the scene, you can see Aniston lying on top of Hamm as sunlight pours in through the window. The two are still nude and are just enjoying each other's presence - visual art if I do say so myself.

Have a look at a snippet of the episode below:

When asked about how the pair prepared for such a heated scene alongside the director Mimi Leder, Aniston stated that she and her co-star didn't want an intimacy coordinator as the pair were "seasoned" enough.

"Having Mimi there, you’re protected," she started her response. "I never felt uncomfortable. Jon was such a gentleman, always — I mean every move, every cut, 'You OK?'"

She continued, explaining that the scene was "very choreographed."

"That’s the beauty of Mimi and our gorgeous editor, the music and lighting," she said. "So, you don’t prepare. They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like, 'What does that mean?' They said: 'Where someone asks you if you’re OK,' and I’m like, 'Please, this is awkward enough!'

"We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out. And we had Mimi there," the actress concluded.

However, the comments did not seem to be well received by her fans, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their views about the issue.

"Ah, Jennifer. Always on the wrong side of things," wrote one user, while another also added: "She’s always on the wrong side of things. We don’t listen to what she has to say anyway... And the irony of her saying this when the main premise of this show is how legacy media covers up sex scandals and racism in order to protect yt people in power..."

A third chimed in saying: "This screams I’m old and out of touch. You know how desperate she is to maintain that cool and carefree image too."

And this user pointed out: "If a male actor made these comments about intimacy coordinators they’d get cancelled."

Others also spoke highly of the job, stating that intimacy coordinators can actually help people build better bonds with boundaries.

"Having seen firsthand the kind of work an intimacy coordinator actually does, it actually deflates the awkwardness and helps actors build boundaries and trust with one another. If it’s not for her that’s fine but it’s legitimate work that can be effective for performance," this X-user wrote.

However, others did jump in to defend the star.

"Why is everyone blaming her when it was explained to her badly," wrote one person and this user also added: "Let me get this straight... y’all are upset that a woman did something she was comfortable with? Damn we really cannot win."

In the past decade, intimacy coodinators have played a crucial role on set with setting appropriate boundaries as well as working closely with all actors, and crew members, when it comes to performing risque scenes.
