Adult film star Riley Reid once opened up about how her ex-boyfriend made her feel "disgusting" because of her job.
The 31-year-old has been in the industry since 2010 when she was just 19 years old.
Outlets such as LA Weekly and CNBC have ranked her highly amongst other popular adult entertainers, and in 2021 Reid was inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organization Hall of Fame.
But it hasn't been an easy ride (if you'll pardon the pun), as the Florida-born actress discussed how her past relationships have been affected by her job on an episode of Logan Paul's podcast, imPaulsive, back in 2018.
While Reid is now happily married to Latvian free-runner Pasha Petkuns - and has a baby daughter Emma - she admitted it wasn't easy finding someone who would value her as a person while also being okay with what she did for a living.
One ex in particular apparently refused to kiss Reid on the lips after she came home from work. She said this made her feel "disgusting" and like she should quit. "He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff [...] he didn't want to kiss me when I came home from work. So, like, [it] made me feel like a disgusting person.
"And I'm not disgusting! It's harsh," she added. "It was so horrible when he told me that."
Reid was also open about how several of her past relationships have ended in ultimatums, and that the men in her life have forced her to choose between them and her job.
In a 2021 Instagram post that has since been deleted, Reid wrote: "Never have I ever had a boyfriend who was proud of my job. I've had two 'normal' boyfriends in my adult life, normal being they don't do porn. Both of which ended in an ultimatum, porn or them. I always chose porn. I've struggled with that choice though, wondering if I've made the right decision."
She added in 2022: "My ex was so anti-porn, I almost quit porn because I thought I hated porn, but then I realized I just hated him."
Fortunately, her doubts are irrelevant now that she's a mother to a little girl. On Instagram, she uploaded a photo of herself holding her daughter, captioning it with a sweet tribute to her "newly founded family," writing: "Forever thankful for my newly founded family. I love you and appreciate you endlessly [Patkuns]. You're such an amazing husband to me and even better father to Emma."
She continued in the caption: "You're so present in every moment with both of us and I am so happy to spend everyday with you. Thank you for choosing me as your wife, best friend & life partner. Thank you Emma for being the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I adore and love you more than you'll ever know.
