Billie Eilish has finally given fans a peek at a hidden tattoo that she once claimed they would never lay eyes on.

The Grammy-winning artist, 21, who is best known for hits like 'Bad Guy', sent social media into a frenzy when a photo of her in a bikini was posted on a friend's Instagram account.

In the image, Billie can be seen enjoying the sun, sporting a stylish bikini by Miaou. However, the attention quickly shifted to a small tattoo nestled in the center of her chest, spelling out 'Eilish'.

This was the first-ever sighting of the tattoo, after Billie revealed in a 2020 Vanity Fair interview: "I did get a tattoo, but you won't ever see it."

According to Rolling Stone, the tattoo features Billie's second name in a distinctive gothic script, added to her body after her triumphant sweep of five Grammys in 2020, as she said at the time: "Yes, I love myself."

She had also previously stated her desire for low-key tattoos, ruling out anything on her face and preferring ink that's barely visible.

The 'Eilish' tattoo joins a set of other designs that adorn the singer's body, including an intricate piece on her hand and a dragon design on her hip.

Billie has previously shared that the fairies inked on her left hand were inspired by a childhood favorite book called "Fairyopolis", describing them as her "little guardian angel fairies". The dragon tattoo, which extends from her hip to her thigh, was unveiled during a photoshoot with Vogue, marking the first time the artist was seen in revealing clothing for a magazine feature.

Despite Billie's tendency towards more concealed tattoos, the 'Eilish' tattoo came to light when a friend, Annabel Zimmer - who is the daughter of renowned film composer Hans Zimmer - shared a candid snapshot of the singer enjoying the outdoors in a bikini top and sunglasses.

Billie, once known for her signature oversized clothing style, has recently been embracing more traditionally feminine looks.

In a 2019 Calvin Klein campaign video, the singer opened up about her preference for baggy clothes, explaining, "I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that’s why I wear big baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath, you know?"

She added: "Nobody can be like, 'Oh she’s slim-thick, she’s not slim-thick, she got a flat a**, she got a fat a**.' Nobody can say any of that because they don’t know."

The singer instead hopes that the focus can remain on her incredible music rather than her figure or fashion choices.
