Bob Saget's widow has recently opened up about the "guilt" of putting herself back out there after the sudden death of her husband.

The late actor and comedian tragically passed away in January last year in Florida after an unexpected fall in his hotel room left him suffering from a fatal head trauma.

In a heartbreaking statement released by the family at the time, they confirmed the news of Saget's death as well as the cause behind it.

"Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities' investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us," they said. "They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."

His family continued: "In the weeks since Bob's passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob's fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful. As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter."

Saget's widow, Kelly Rizzo, also released a statement on Instagram about the tragedy.

In the lengthy post, she wrote about how her late husband "truly lived life to the fullest" and despite all the hardships he faced, he would still try to enjoy every moment as much as he could - especially over their shared love for food.

"We were in our happy place together whenever we were out at a restaurant, hotel lobby bar, or even our own kitchen when I would try out a new creation on him," she continued. "He was never shy about ordering, and he would even tell you to get everything on the menu that you wanted because he also wanted to see you enjoy everything to the fullest. Experiencing simple pleasures in life like that brought him so much joy.

"I can't even put into words how much I will miss this," she added.

Now, over a year and a half on, the 44-year-old has opened up about the difficulties of moving on.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Rizzo stated that while it may have initially been difficult to picture herself with someone else, she has now become more accustomed to the idea, though there is always some sort of "guilt" that seems to be holding her back.

"In the first year, I couldn't even process what that would be like," she told the outlet. "And you get to a point where you're like, alright, this is something that I could see. And what's interesting is, there was a long period of time where I would almost feel guilty for even thinking about it."

She continued: "You get to a point where you separate what earthly Bob would have been like," she said. "And he would have been like, 'You can't move on! How dare you! How could you!' But when I hear his friends and family say, 'No, he would want you to be happy,' and when you get to that point, then you feel at peace with that happening."

She emphasized that the support from his family, including his children and ex-wife, has helped make the grieving period a little easier, and with time, it only continues to improve.

"I'm grateful that I'm still so close with his girls," she said. "Even his ex-wife, and I talk all the time, and she's just so wonderful, and has been such a rock throughout everything."
