It's been over 40 years since Brooke Shields donned a pair of blue jeans in Calvin Klein's iconic ad.

Now, the model-turned-actress is back in denim as the face of Jordache's latest campaign.

Sheild's was just 15 when she posed in the 1980 advert and said: "You want to know what comes in between me and my Calvins? Nothing."

Given her age, the slogan garnered enormous controversy and even led to the ad being banned in some countries.

While it's unlikely her partnership with Jordache will ruffle quite so many feathers, the model certainly isn't playing it safe.

In one snap taken by celebrity photographer Cass Bird, she poses topless and barefoot in a pair of straight-leg jeans.

Talking to People magazine about the campaign, Shield's said that the role meant more to her now than it did when she was a teenager.

"I appreciate it more now," she said, adding: "It’s such an honor to be my age and be represented. I feel the magnitude of it more. There’s a knowledge that comes with age, and this feels less like a job and more like a privilege."

The mother-of-two went on to say how important it was to her that people saw her real body - not an airbrushed version of it.

"It was important for you to see this is my 56-year-old body and to fight the retouching," said the Blue Lagoon star. "I’m always like, 'You better keep it honest.' And we did."

That was why - when it came to going topless during the shoot - Shields was confident that she was putting across a positive message.

"There's something about owning your sexuality at this age that is on point for where we are today. It's not angry empowerment," she said.

Liz Berlinger, the president of the American denim company, said in a press release that they are "excited to work with Brooke Shields."

"Like Jordache, she is iconic in fashion. We have watched her grow from a young girl into an incredible woman, mother, and entrepreneur — throughout it all, she has remained authentic and an inspiration to women everywhere," Berlinger added.
