Ansel Elgort has managed to raise thousands of dollars for charity to help fight the coronavirus pandemic: all thanks to an extremely NSFW Instagram post.

According to British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail, The Baby Driver actor took to his official Instagram account earlier this week, and uploaded a black and white post which showed him completely naked and wet in an outdoor shower, with only his hand covering his manhood.

Recently this doctor ignited Twitter by dropping truth bombs on social media:

He also included a link that outwardly appeared to send his thirsty fans to the subscription service OnlyFans, where users can view X-rated content too explicit to be seen on Instagram, and also send direct messages to ask for pictures and videos on-demand.

However, the link in question was actually a trick and sent them to a GoFundMe page set up by fellow actor Jeffrey Wright, which was raising money to assist healthcare workers in Brooklyn. The money raised by Elgort's ruse will fund 75-100 meals per day to those frontline workers and has raised more than $210,000 thus far.

In a later video statement made to his fans, the actor said: "I just wanted to say thanks so much, look how much everybody’s raised. I don’t know how much is from the [Instagram] post, but it seems like a lot of people have been giving in the last few hours. So thanks a lot, looks like it was worth it."

Instagram has since requested that the Fault in Our Stars actor remove the original image, due to the fact that the nude post violated the social media site's community guidelines.

However, if that's left you disappointed then don't worry: he later claimed that he will post a more appropriately cropped picture at some time in the future.
