Armie Hammer has checked into rehab following numerous allegations of sexual assault and impropriety.

Per Vanity Fair, the 34-year-old Call Me By Your Name actor left the Cayman Islands late last month to attend a facility in Florida after reaching out to his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers.

He reportedly checked into the Orlando facility on Monday, May 31, with the support of Chambers, to deal with his addiction to drugs, alcohol, and sex.

A close friend of the pair told Vanity Fair: "This is a clear sign that [Hammer] is taking back control [of] his life and knows that this [is] a step towards his overall well-being."

Hammer was accused by multiple women in January of 2021 of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, with some claiming that he admitted to a cannibalistic fetishism in private messages.

Per Variety, an actress by the name of Effie alleged that Hammer had repeatedly abused and assaulted her during the course of their on-and-off four-year relationship between 2016 to 2020.

Effie stated: "Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face.

"He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent [...] He then left with no concern for my well-being. I was completely in shock."

Courtney Vucekovich, another ex-girlfriend of Hammer, later told Page Six: "[Hammer] said to me he wants to break my rib and barbecue and eat it.

"F*** that was weird, but you never think about it again. He says: 'I want to take a bite out of you.' If I had a little cut on my hand, he'd like suck it or lick it. That's about as weird as we got."

Meanwhile, Hammer's ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze also alleged he had behaved inappropriately, after sharing a number of direct messages containing graphic sexual fantasies.

In particular, Hammer appeared to profess an interest in vorarephilia, or erotic cannibalism, with the actor claiming that he is "100% a cannibal" who wanted to drink blood and eat human rib bones.

Hammer has denied all allegations against him, with his attorney Andrew Brettler stating per the above publication:

"Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [Effie], and every other sexual partner of his for that matter, have been completely consensual, discussed, and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory."

As a result of the negative press generated by the allegations, the actor was forced to withdraw from a number of movie projects and was dropped by his acting agency and publicist.
