A bride has opened up about the awkward moment when her father's pants fell down as he walked her down the aisle at her wedding.
Weddings are a huge moment in anyone's life, and all attention should rightfully be on the bride and groom during their big day.
Months of planning go into creating the best day possible, and it can often be overwhelming attempting to meticulously plan every detail so everything is perfect.
What you can never account for, however, is someone's pants just deciding to give up in front of all your family and friends.
Sarah Grundman-Connors, 36, took to TikTok to share an unforgettable moment from her 2021 wedding at The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ.
In the now-viral video, Sarah narrates: "Make sure whoever is walking you down the aisle is wearing suspenders for this one reason," as she plays a clip of her dad, Leonard Grundman, 74, accompanying her down the aisle.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Sarah said: "He told me that he was losing his pants. I squeezed his hand and said, 'Hold them up with your right hand, we are almost there,' and before we knew it, they were on the floor."
Immortalising the unexpected moment, Sarah noted: "The photographer 100% captured the moment - bent over, full moon."
Sarah explains that her dad, who had rented a suit for the occasion, had fallen ill two weeks before the wedding, losing weight in the process. Unbeknownst to anyone, the suit's fit became an issue as her father's pants gradually descended during the walk down the aisle.
"A lot of the times when you rent a suit, there are no belt loops," she said. "My dad has actually never been a suspenders guy, but the pants had loops and fasteners on each side that you could pull and tighten."
When her brother Chris, who was officiating the ceremony, noticed the wardrobe malfunction, a silent exchange of disbelief occurred between them. Sarah recalled: "The only thing I recall going through my mind at the time was praying that my dad's underwear were clean."
Despite the hiccup, Sarah's wedding turned into a memorable and lighthearted affair. "As soon as he pulled his pants up and smiled, the entire room erupted in laughter and applause. I raised my flowers to signal we were okay and continued our walk."
Reflecting on the incident, Sarah emphasized the importance of embracing the unexpected and finding joy in the moment. "Life is too short, and I really wanted my wedding day to be laid back and really fun. I think that was one of the best ways it could have started to keep that theme going."
It sounds like the memorable moment only added to the day of celebration!
