Britney Spears has sparked a heated debate online after an risque video showing the pop star posing in lingerie surfaced on social media.
The 43-year-old musician originally uploaded the footage in 2023, but the clip went viral again on X this week.
In the clip, the 'Toxic' songstress could be seen lying on a bed wearing bright pink underwear and a bra while filming herself on her phone.
Spears posed for the camera and adjusted her underwear before sitting upright, with later moments showing her lying back down and smiling and pouting at the camera.
Although she didn't speak in the footage, her caption explained that she was particularly excited about the bra she had found.
"I finally found a bra from Victoria’s Secret that doesn’t hurt !!! I love a push up bra but I don’t like padded push up bra !!! This bra is genius … it pushes you up and there’s no padding !!! Also it’s silk !!!” she wrote, according to The Sun.
"I don’t even feel like I’m wearing anything and it’s a pretty color too !!! 40 can suck my d*** !!! I turned 6 this year. I feel six most of the time anyways !!!" she added.
While the footage isn't new, its reappearance on X this week garnered new attention and led to viewers sharing their divided reactions.
Some people expressed discomfort after watching the clip.
"I don’t want to see this I’m uncomfortable," one person wrote. Another simply responded: “She needs help."
Others pushed back against the criticism and defended Spears' right to post whatever she chooses.
“She looks fab and happy with herself and her life……. you are all just jealous,” one supporter said.
A second added: "She's just living her best life how she chooses to now that she's actually able to.”
Spears previously made headlines after sharing Instagram footage of herself riding a horse topless, with diamond emojis strategically placed over her body to comply with the platform's guidelines.
The 'Baby One More Time' singer covered her breasts with one arm while riding and paired the unexpected footage with Sting's 1993 hit 'Fields of Gold'.
That post came during a period in which Spears had attracted attention for several other incidents.
In March, she was arrested for driving under the influence before accepting a plea deal in May that allowed her to avoid jail time. She also spent time at a rehabilitation facility following the incident.
Footage from the arrest showed Spears failing a sobriety test before being handcuffed and placed in the back of a police vehicle.
After her stay in rehab, a source told Page Six that the mom-of-two was doing better.
"She’s healthy and happy and feeling very positive and excited to start afresh. Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself," the insider said.
