If you're a vegetarian or a vegan, that's a totally respectable choice. And it's understandable you'd want to convert other people to a lifestyle that you love so much. But there's the thing: acting obnoxious and making condescending comments isn't going to convince anybody to go green. It's more likely you will convince them to go to Wendy's and order a Baconator for lunch. That's half a pound of beef, six strips of bacon and no veggies. I hear it also includes cab fare to the hospital.
Social media queen Chrissy Teigen recently got into a spat with vegetarians on Twitter. See, Chrissy's an omnivore, and loves her meat. So when Hempler Foods Group tweeted a photo of six juicy strips of bacon, and asked which one looked perfect, she couldn't help but cast a vote.
Chrissy voted, "4. Chewy crispy fat, crispy juicy meat." Excellent choice! The other strips of bacon look either undercooked or overcooked (although #3 isn't too bad). But rather than praise Chrissy for her wise decision, or post appropriate gifs of Homer Simpson drooling, the world's most annoying vegetarians came charging out with their tofu pitchforks. Unfortunately, they had no idea who they were dealing with. When they tried to shame the Lip Sync battle host for eating meat, she fired back with the perfect responses.
This person said pigs "are better alive," to which Chrissy respectfully disagreed.
This person wondered how someone could possibly eat bacon, to which Chrissy explained the ideal setting.
This person acted like a judgmental brat, so Chrissy called her "a judgmental brat."
This person claimed to have lost all respect for Chrissy, condemning her as an "unfunny, disgusting human." What's more, she said Chrissy did not deserve to be a mother, due to her "lack of compassion." (Stay classy, vegans.)
In response, Chrissy reminded her of all the pork recipes in her last cookbook. Also, she recalled the time that her husband, John Legend, ate chicken wings off of her ass.
And yes, that is a thing that happened. Chrissy posted a video of the special moment on Instagram, with the caption, "what's up, chicken butt?"
Then Chrissy posted a tweet that reflects how some people feel about vegetarianism. It's an admirable, healthy lifestyle, with a lot of delicious food, but the sanctimonious way some vegans act is pretty off-putting.
Much like pigs marching into a slaughterhouse, the angry vegan replies kept coming, and Chrissy kept clapping back. This person got roasted harder than Bacon Strip #6 in that Hempler Foods Group photo.
And this 'Very Merry Vegan' doesn't seem very merry.
So, let this be a lesson for "How Not To Convert People To Vegetarianism." For people that don't eat meat, they sure love beef.
