Drake made some unlikely new friends during his visit to Oklahoma City as he sat courtside for an NBA game on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old rapper had the best seats in the house - and they also just so happened to be located next to an adorable older couple who appeared to have no idea who Drake was.

During the Thunder v. Rockets game, Drake appeared on the big screen and was given the usual pomp and circumstance that comes with being an A-lister at a sporting event. However, it appeared that not everybody in the crowd recognized the chart-topping star.

As you can see in the video below, one of Drake's tracks begins to play over the arena's sound system and the crowd begins cheering. However, the couple can be seen looking up at the screen, before looking over at Drake.

The couple then appears to ask questions about who he is, to which Drake laughs and starts patting the man on the arm. It truly is a wholesome moment.

And the trio's interactions didn't end there, as the three posed for a selfie that Drake posted to social media, along with the caption: "My new parents."

Following the game, The Oklahoman tracked down the couple to ask them about their interactions with one of the biggest music stars in the world.

Renee Stanley, 71, told the outlet: "Well, I knew his name was Drake, but I didn’t know he was a rapper, and I didn’t know how popular he was. But let me tell ya, everybody else around me let me know."

And it turns out the caption for their selfie was all down to Renee, who told The Oklahoman that she said to the rapper: "Just tell everybody we’re your new parents."

Renee was joined at the game by her husband, Jim Stanley, 75.

The couple quickly became known online as "the old couple next to Drake", which Renee finds rather funny because she says they don't think their that old at all.

Funnily enough, the couple's grandson - an OU student - also follows Drake on Instagram, and saw his grandparents in a selfie with the star. He called Renee to tell her: "Oh my god, Grandma, I’m following Drake and I see you!"

"He about fell over," Renee said. "I’m a big hit with the grandkids."

Here's how some other people on social media reacted to the hilarious exchange:

I think I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite stories of the year - and that we love Drake's new parents!
