Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has once again proven why she is still deserving of the moniker: "The Body".
The 55-year-old beauty (yes, she is actually 55), may have retired from the catwalk to try her hand in the wellness industry - co-founding the supplement business WelleCo - but her most recent Instagram snap proves that the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl can still rock a bikini at a moment’s notice.
Check out this BTS footage from Elle's 1989 SI: Swimsuit Edition shoot:Back in 1989, Macpherson was given the nickname "The Body" by Time magazine after appearing on their front cover. The entrepreneurial model then used this to catapault her own series of workout videos called 'Your Personal Best – The Body'.
Now, 30 years on from that iconic issue, Aussie beauty has left her Instagram followers reeling by showing off her athletic figure in a stunning bikini and sun hat.
She captioned the image:
"Being Australian, I’m at my most comfortable by the sea. I'm so blessed to live in Miami close to the Bahamas where this photo was taken. People ask me what I do to keep in shape."
She continued:
"First of all, I start on the inside with @welleco super greens, it’s a one and done evolution of the multivitamin and mineral, a beauty support right down to your mitochondria. I use our clean lean nourishing plant protein as a snack in between plant-based meals welleco.com - and I spend as much time as I can in nature swimming, walking - and drink loads of filtered water.
"Meditation/reflection/prayer is [important] to me, it only takes 10 mins a day but is a non-negotiable."
Elle Macpherson talks about WelleCo:One awe-struck commenter typed: "You’ve always been 'the Body' and you always will be," while another follower added: "Ain’t no one else stealing 'the Body' moniker anytime soon".
Other users hailed the mom of two and five-time Sports Illustrated cover star as a "gorgeous goddess" and "timeless beauty". Another Instagram user wrote: "Elle you’re an inspiration for us women in our 50s."
