After Kevin Hart released a video explaining why he was in a wheelchair, the former NFL star who was there during the incident shared a clip of how it happened.

In case you missed it, the 44-year-old funnyman endured some rather unpleasant injuries while attempting feats that once came naturally during his youth.

In his social media address, Hart told his followers: "Ladies and gentlemen, the age 40 is real. To all my men and women out there who are 40 years old and above, it's not a game.

"Respect that age, respect that age, or that age will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it."

He added: "This is a public service announcement because I know people may see me out and I don't want you to be alarmed, but I'm in a wheelchair."

The incident unfurled when Hart, accompanied by former NFL star Stevan Ridley, engaged in an impromptu competition. A friendly dispute led the duo to decide upon a race, with Hart's confidence in his speed steering him to accept the challenge.

We can now see the race take place after Ridley uploaded the footage to his Instagram page, where he kindly shared three videos, one of which is a slow-motion shot of the moment Hart experienced the injury.

Despite some of the comments stating that it looks like Hart is running slow, it should be noted that he's alongside a former athlete and the actor is definitely running at full pelt.

Also, the fact that they had multiple races proves how competitive they both were.

Following the friendly competition, and from the comfort of his own home, Hart admitted: "Guys, I blew all of my s***. Tore my lower abdomen, my adductors, I tore them. I don't even know what that is, but I tore them. Tore those two. I can't walk, sit my a** down. This is 44.

"What are we competing for at this age, what am I doing? Why did I even race? Stupidest s***, and now I can't walk 'cause I'm somewhere trying to get the title of the fastest at the barbecue," he went on.

He wasn't alone in his pain, as some of his celebrity pals empathized with the star and left messages of encouragement.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson recounted his own brush with an adductor muscle tear during his wrestling days, assuring Hart that he would bounce back, all while still managing to take a jab at his friend/rival, speculating that Hart might "grow a 3rd ball" in the process.

Will Smith extended his empathy towards Hart's predicament, acknowledging the inevitability of aging. Meanwhile, Judd Apatow playfully speculated that Hart's choice of attire, a Gucci x Adidas collaboration, might have inadvertently hindered his performance: "Maybe the Gucci Adidas collab slowed you down."

We hope Hart is doing well - hopefully, he'll refrain from racing against athletes in the future.
