It's official: Twerk queen Miley Cyrus and Katniss Everdeen's friend-without-benefits Liam Hemsworth are married.

The celebrity couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on Christmas Eve in Franklin, Tennessee. Liam's actor brothers Chris and Luke were in attendance, plus Miley's parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus. I hope that the wedding didn't break his heart, his achy breaky heart. I just don't think he'd understand.

Miley confirmed the happy news on Instagram by sharing adorable wedding photos with her 78 million followers. Fans swooned, realizing that Hannah Montana is all grown-up. Also, they pointed out some similarities between the wedding photos and scenes from Miley and Liam's 2010 film The Last Song.

When they shot that movie in 2009, Liam was 19 and Miley was about 17. Sparks flew on the Georgia set, and three years later, they got engaged. In 2012, Miley reflected on the fictional romance turned real. "When you start, you want to be professional," she told MailOnline. "But when you’re filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you’re not human if you don’t feel something."

The couple broke up in 2013 and rekindled their relationship a couple years later. In 2016, Liam told GQ that he was "beyond happy" about their reunion. "At the time we were going in different directions and it’s just what needed to happen," he explained. "We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time—we both needed that."

Now that they're officially married, fans are comparing their loving embrace in wedding photos to their loving embrace in The Last Song. It was meant to be! "wow a glO UP!!!!" tweeted one fan. "so happy for my fav otp???just proves that if you’re meant to be, everything will fall into place!! congrats you guys, absolutely bursting with happiness??❤️❤️x ((brb just going to cry and watch the last song xox))"

One Twitter user pointed out: "if miley cyrus has kids, their mom will be hannah montana, their dad will be gale from hunger games & their uncle will be thor. we love a family full of iconic famous people." Another fan noted that if their future kids ask how they met, they can just watch The Last Kiss! Can you imagine watching a rom-com about your parents meeting?

And it all came full circle: Nicholas Sparks, who wrote the screenplay for The Last Song, plus the novel it was based on, congratulated Miley ad Liam on Twitter. "This makes me so happy," he wrote. If had never written that book, would Miley and Liam have fallen in love? I think they should send him a present.

This year will end on a happy note for the couple, who suffered a devastating loss after wildfires destroyed their Malibu, California home. Liam shared a heartbreaking photo of the pile of ashes, where giant letters "LOVE" lay in the rubble.

"We had these big gorgeous letters that said ‘love’ when you drove up to our house and they actually made it through the fire," Miley said in a recent interview. "And that’s literally and physically all that’s left so I felt that was really poetic. You can always rebuild a physical structure, but that love that can’t be destroyed is always there and always stayed strong so that gave me a lot of light during a dark time."
