Gordon Ramsay has praised his wife Tana for how she dealt with the death of their baby, Rocky.
The celebrated chef and his TV presenter wife have shared a journey filled with enduring love and profound resilience throughout their 26-year-long marriage - and that's precisely what Gordon loves and appreciates about his longtime spouse.
The couple's love and support have seen them through a myriad of life's trials, including the unimaginable heartbreak they faced in 2016 when Tana experienced a pregnancy loss at 20 weeks. “Born with a strong heartbeat but too little to survive,” Tana emotionally reflected about their son, whom they lovingly named Rocky.
“There’s no book that guides you through that loss,” Gordon shared in this week's issue of PEOPLE, reflecting on the heartbreaking experience. “Watching the trauma unfold, it’s this life-changing moment.”
This experience, according to Gordon, ultimately strengthened the family's bond and their unity. In loving memory of Rocky, they named their Cornwall home after him and wear jewelry inscribed with his name as a perpetual reminder.
“We wouldn’t have had Oscar had we not lost Rocky,” says Gordon. “There was no substitute — far from it — but it brought us a bond that you’d never experience in a normal situation.”
Tana commemorated the seven years since their loss this June with a heartfelt photo and message on social media, emphasizing the enduring love and memory they hold for Rocky.
Gordon described Tana as "incredibly resilient." "That's the power of Tana," he said, lauding her strength and the supportive approach she extended to others during such a tragic event.
He commended her strength and her openness, which not only paved the way for healing but also provided solace and advice to friends and other women facing similar situations.
Their children, he states, "get a lot of strength from their mom," attributing the family’s resilience and collective strength to Tana's unyielding spirit and enduring strength. “There's a lot of things that Tana's done, that we wouldn't be here today without that strength," Gordon articulates, shedding light on the impactful influence of Tana's enduring resilience on their family.
The Ramsay family’s journey is a poignant narrative of love and enduring strength. Their story, imbued with unconditional love and remembrance, reflects the undying memory of Rocky, forever etched in their hearts.
