Hilary Duff has managed to cause a stir on social media without even trying.

Yes, although it has been more than 20 years since Duff shot to fame as Lizzie McGuire in the Disney series of the same name, the now-36-year-old Duff is still as popular as ever.

You may remember earlier this year that Duff appeared in a stunning feature for Women's Health to talk about her passion for staying strong and healthy. (In fact, some publications were called out after stating that Duff was "still looking great" at her age - with people quick to remind the internet that people can look great at ANY age.)

“[I’m] appreciating my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just bettering the outside of my body," she told the publication. "Spending time with people that make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity and getting enough sleep and balance in my diet."

And after sharing her secrets, it looks like Duff is still smashing her goals in the gym - as a recent photo has surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter) showing the actress in her workout gear.

Dressed in a facemask, blue leggings, and white vest top, Duff was photographed at what is believed to be a Los Angeles gym.

Despite the original photos being from 2021, the X page Daily Loud recently shared one snap that has amassed more than 35 million views.

The image shows what looks like an incredibly toned Duff standing next to a machine - and it has been enough to send X users into a meltdown, with some people branding the star "Hilary Buff".

However, are the gym images of Hilary Duff even real?

Well, one user was quick to point out that the viral photo does indeed show Duff at the LA gym back in 2021, but that some aspects of her body have been needlessly edited - such as the muscle tone on her thighs.

Nevertheless, Duff looks just as incredible in the original photos, so she's fully deserving off all the love - but, as many people pointed out, she's also fully deserving to be able to go to the gym and workout without the pressure of having her photograph taken.

Duff currently has three children; 11-year-old son Luca Cruz - whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie - and daughters Banks Violet, 5, and Mae James, 2 - whom she shares with current husband Matthew Koma.

Opening up more about her workout routine with Shape earlier this year, the How I Met Your Father star revealed that she works out three to four times a week with her personal trainer.

She revealed that they focus on upper body and muscle imbalances through "complex movements".

"This is the first time I’ve really trained like that, and it makes such a huge difference, especially with my core and not getting hurt," Duff said. "I’ll turn [to look] over my shoulder in the car to make sure I can change lanes and I’ll put my neck out."
