Jennifer Aniston shares adorable rare throwback photo to when she was a kid

If there's one celebrity out there who was long overdue to get themselves an Instagram account, it was Jennifer Aniston. The former Friends cast member always seemed to eschew social media. But not long after her big 50th birthday bash, the actress surprised us all by getting it at long last.

Although Jen doesn't post very often compared with some other celebs, when she does it's always worth taking a look at, and this week she's delighted all of her many millions of social media followers by posting an adorable throwback photo to when she was a cute little nipper.

Here's Jen talking about how she sees Rachel Greene's life turning out after the finale of Friends:

The black and white photograph shows Aniston as a four/five-year-old girl, wearing a knitted sweater and a matching knitted hat. With her golden curls and dimpled cheeks, young Jen stares out the window with an expression of interest. Aniston captioned the pic: " California beanie baby ( I'm sure I was wishing for snow 🙏🏼☃️❄️) [sic]"

It seems as though adult Jen has a similar predilection for cozy knitwear. Back in October, she posted a pic of herself surrounded by stylists, wearing a woolly jumper, a hat, socks, sandals ... and no pants.

She captioned the post with a paraphrased quote from the rom-com Notting Hill, writing: "I’m just a girl....standing with hair and makeup. A stylist. A photographer. A lighting crew, wind machine, props, and a computer .... asking you to think I woke up like this. 😬😑 [sic]"

Jen's inaugural post was a heartwarming reunion selfie shared with her old castmates Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry. Aniston captioned the picture: "And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM [sic]."

Jennifer Aniston reveals if she'd take part in a Friends reunion show:
