The 47-year-old actress took to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about her "flight entertainment system" malfunctioning during a six-hour flight.

"Thanks you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you," Chastain tweeted on Wednesday (October 9). "Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn’t work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit."

She also included a screenshot of her receipt to back herself up.

A customer service representative dealt with the complaint, stating that the airline offers all customers whose entertainment systems don't work a $15 credit.

"We’re sorry you’re disappointed, Jessica. Please send us a DM so we can look into this," they wrote. The actress did just that, including a screenshot of the conversation she already had with the airline’s customer service.

However, the agent just reiterated the airline's regulations because she'd already received compensation for the technical issue.

"I understand but I spent $1,500 on the flight and so did my husband," Chastain wrote in response. "There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer."

While the Molly’s Game actress demanded more be done for the blunder, the agent told her: "I am sorry there is not more I can do."

Have a look at the interaction below:

The response to the public outing was mixed, with some users slamming the actress for her "tone-deaf" remarks given the fact that some parts of the United States were experiencing the wrath of a natural disaster and losing everything they owned while the star, who can clearly afford expensive flights to different locations, was complaining over $15 credit.

"Girl read the room, you're a millionaire flying a budget airline," one X user replied.

"Poor millionaire got refunded the $15 her internet cost and complains publicly. And you wonder why people think Hollywood is out of touch.," added another.

And this user stated: "You can afford $1500 for a six hour flight and I’m supposed to feel bad for you??"

This person added: "I have been poor enough to have to take a greyhound bus for 2 days with the only entertainment being crazy/scary passengers. You'll be fine."

One person even went as far as to label her a "Karen", writing: "A woman who is worth 50 million is upset over being compensated for the TV being out. You received your compensation. Don't become a Karen of the Airlines."

However, others jumped in to defend the star with writer Louis Peitzman commenting: "So many of you would tweet exactly like Jessica Chastain if you were her level of famous. I know that in my soul."

Another fan added: "She deserves every penny; it’s her hard-earned money, after all."

Someone else commented: "Ms. Chastain, it doesn’t matter that you are wealthy; it’s the principle. If it were any of these folks’ friends or family, they’d completely agree with you! I love that you are putting @JetBlue on blast. Do better!!!"

In the end, Chastain ended up deleting her original tweet, but you know how the internet is - it always keeps the receipts just like she does.
