A resurfaced clip shows the moment Johnny Depp was questioned about his injured finger during a trip to a children's hospital.

Back in 2015, Depp was joined by fellow actor Stephen Graham as their pair transformed into their Pirates of the Caribbean characters to pay a visit to the patients and staff of The Queensland Children's Hospital (formerly the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital) in Australia.

This was one of many trips the Depp, now 58, made to children's hospitals - in the hope of putting smiles on faces as the beloved Captain Jack Sparrow.

However, one specific moment from his 2015 visit has resurfaced amid the actor's defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp is suing 36-year-old Heard for $50 million after the Aquaman star referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse" in a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post. Depp has repeatedly denied the allegations that he was physically violent toward his ex-wife.

Heard is countersuing for $100 million - claiming she was only ever violent against Depp in self-defense or defense of her younger sister, per NBC News.

Throughout April, their trial continued to make headlines around the world, as the former couple shared shocking revelations about their past relationship.

One issue the exes disagreed on was that of Depp's finger injury back in 2015.

According to court documents filed by Heard's legal team, Depp cut his own finger off when he slammed "a hard plastic phone against the wall" while in Australia, Insider reports.

However, during his testimony last week Depp refuted this version of events, claiming that it was his ex-wife who severed the top of his middle right finger by throwing a glass vodka bottle at him. Depp added that he would never have severed his own finger, as he loves playing the guitar.

Depp's former nurse even gave a testimony in which she described trying to find the actor's finger in the "messy" house.

Now, fans have taken to social media to share the moment a child at the Queensland Children's Hospital quizzed Depp on his injured digit. Check it out below:

In the clip, the child innocently asks: "What happened to your finger?"

In response, Depp stays in character, and tells the children: "My finger? I bruised it very badly.

"I ate it. I bit it off. I was starving. I was, I was starving. I bit me finger. I ate it! The tip of it. Just a little. The nail wasn't good."

In response to the touching moment, one social media user commented: "He handled it so beautifully. The entire video is wonderful as it shows him spend time in a hospital for children who are sick or injured. He is amazing with the children and their parents."

Another added: "You can hear in his voice he was lying to keep the mood jovial."

The Edward Scissorhands star has previously stated that the injury proved near-fatal after he developed an MRSA infection. In a court filing, he wrote: "I had to have three surgeries to reconstruct my finger and contracted MRSA three times", adding: "I feared that I would lose my finger, my arm, and my life."

Speaking to the court last month, Depp shared his version of the events that led to his finger being injured.

"She threw the large bottle, and it made contact, and shattered everywhere," he said. "I honestly didn’t feel the pain at first at all. I felt no pain whatsoever. What I felt was, I felt heat... and I felt as if something were dripping down my hand, you know.

"And then I looked down and realized that the tip of my finger had been severed, and I was looking directly at my bones sticking out... Blood was just pouring out. At that point, I think that I went into... I don't know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that's probably the closest that I've ever been."
