Kanye West has made an outrageous statement after watching the popular comedy movie 21 Jump Street.
The 45-year-old rapper - now known simply as Ye - has hit headlines multiple times this year after making statements that many have deemed to be antisemetic.
In the fall of last year, the rapper was met with backlash after tweeting that he was going to go "death con 3 on Jewish people", adding: "The funny thing is I actually can’t be anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jews also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone whoever opposes your agenda."
Then, during an appearance on Infowars with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in December, he stated (via NBC News): "Every human being has value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler."
He then added: "The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world."
Ye's tirades have been costly.
As previously reported, numerous fashion brands have cut ties with the 'Famous' rapper - including GAP, Vogue, JP Morgan, the now-disgraced Balenciaga, and even Adidas, with the latter saying in a statement:
"Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye's recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company's values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness."
Additionally, Elon Musk has previously had to comment about how the 'Gold Digger' star had been booted from Twitter over his repeated inflammatory comments.
Now, Ye has taken to Instagram to share an utterly baffling post.
Sharing an image of the poster for the 2012 action comedy movie 21 Jump Street - which starred Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum - Ye professed that the former actor had caused him to change his views on Jewish people.
"Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again," the rapper captioned his post. "No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people
"No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew," he continued, before adding: "Thank you Jonah Hill I love you."
The head-scratching post has been liked over 1.7 million times in just eight hours.
And although many of the comments were as unsavory as Ye's post, one commenter really hit the nail on the head when they wrote: "Could you imagine being Jonah Hill and waking up to this on your IG feed?"
Born Jonah Hill Feldstein, the now-39-year-old star was raised with Judaism and has previously spoken about being a "nice Jewish boy" who had a "magical" bar mitzvah, per The JC.
But his acting career has also resulted into him portraying characters that he said "hurt Judaism" - most notably his role as Donnie Azoff in The Wolf of Wall Street.
"Being someone who’s Jewish and playing someone who’s Jewish in such an unflattering way, I’ve definitely thought about how the things that are beautiful about Judaism are not the things portrayed by these guys," Hill previously said, per the Jewish Journal. "They’re actually the things that hurt Judaism, because these characters are all about greed and money, and there’s that old stereotype that all Jews care about is money.
"So they’re not exactly what we want as a culture out there."
