Ozzy Osbourne has blasted Kanye West with a scathing statement after the rapper used a sample of one of the rock legend's most iconic songs.
The 46-year-old controversial rapper held a listening party on Thursday (February 8) night at Chicago’s United Center to celebrate his upcoming album and single release: 'Talking / Once Again' ,which features Ty Dolla $ign and Ye's 10-year-old daughter North.
According to Billboard, West's newest album Vultures 1 was scheduled to drop the following day, but has since been released on Saturday.
On Friday (February 9), the famed 75-year-old English rockstar Ozzy Osbourne claimed on social media that West used a sample of a hit Black Sabbath song without his permission and against his wishes.
Osbourne took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a harsh message, writing in capital letters: "Kanye West asked permission to sample a section of a 1983 live performance of 'Iron Man' from the Us Festival without vocals."
"[He] was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many," the singer continued. "He went ahead and used the sample anyway at his album listening party last night. I want no association with this man!"
Check out Osbourne's tweet below:Rolling Stone reported that the 'Iron Man' guitar riff appears in the rapper's new track 'Carnival' - which was one of the 12 songs played at the listening event.
The sample is audible at the 1:45 mark of the track, and a clip from the Chicago event includes the sample around the 1:16 mark in this video.
The rocker's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne - who was raised Jewish - stated that she was exploring legal options to resolve the matter between her husband and West.
The former TV personality told TMZ that West "f***ed with the wrong Jew this time, and explained a cease and desist letter had been sent to him.
The Grammy-winning rapper has been slammed heavily in recent years due to his antisemitic comments.
Back in October 2022, West was condemned after he took to X (formerly Twitter) to call for "death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE." Two months later, he appeared on right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones's show, where he claimed that he "liked Hitler" and said people should "stop dissing the Nazis".
In response to his antisemitic outbursts, West lost access to his social media accounts and was dropped by his agency, CAA, and several fashion collaborations including Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga.
A year later, the musician posted an apology to the Jewish community on social media - which was written in Hebrew - but has continued to share offensive views or content.
"It was not my intention to offend or disrespect and I deeply regret any pain I may have caused," he said, as cited by The Independent. "Your forgiveness is important to me, and I am committed to making amends and promoting unity."
Barely a month before this, he had referred to the controversies on 'Vultures' - the title track from his album of the same name, stating: "How I’m antisemitic? I just f***ed a Jewish b***h," per Rolling Stone.
As previously mentioned, Vultures 1 dropped on Saturday. The album appears to be released through West’s Yzy brand, per Pitchfork.
