Kylie Jenner suffers major malfunction after Met Gala appearance
Kylie Jenner suffered a bit of a mishap after the Met Gala when her daring look came back to bite her.
As we know, the Met Gala is the place where the stars really put in the effort, and Jenner was no different - changing back after the night was a challenge, though.
Kylie Jenner among a galaxy of Met Gala stars
Jenner was just one of the stars on show at Monday’s star-studded event, which saw some remarkable transformations, some hilarious comparisons, a few controversial appearances, and even some celebrities making a statement by their absence.
Among the biggest celebrities at these events are always those from the Kardashian/Jenner clan, and this year was no different.
28-year-old Kylie wore a pretty remarkable outfit, featuring thousands of pearls, over 7,000 ‘fish scales’ and loads of other bells and whistles.
Up top, there was a nude corset with - bizarrely - fake nipples.
It’s that sort of evening.
In total, it is believed that the cosmetics mogul had workers spend 11,000 hours embroidering the outfit, so it’s as much a work of art as a piece of clothing.
However, with all this work comes the chance for wardrobe malfunctions, although happily for Jenner it only occurred afterwards.
Kylie Jenner's post-Met Gala mishap
To really top off the look, Jenner had bleached her eyebrows to the point where they appeared almost invisible.
Afterwards, she shared an hilarious video of her team attempting to dye them back to normal.
It would be fair to say that it didn’t quite go to plan.
Sharing the process on her Instagram Stories, she showed how one brow was still light with the other much darker.
In the clip, she could be heard to say: “My brows are ruined. What is this? What the f**k is this?...This looks horrible.”
She also jokingly accused her stylist of leaving her ‘with no hair’.
She’d already let her avid followers know that she would be making the bold statement before the event, sharing a Story that said: “I don’t have any brows wish me luck.”
The stylist speaks out
After the event, stylist Iggy Rosales revealed the inspiration and ideation behind the entire get-up.
He said: “The dress feels like it’s slipping away…It becomes this living sculpture.”
He added: “We even tested no brows just to see how far we could push it.”
This year’s Met Gala theme was ‘Costume Art’ or ‘Fashion is Art’ and you’d have to argue that this fit the brief.
Among the other stars to turn heads - for various different reasons - were Heidi Klum, Bad Bunny, Blue Ivy Carter, Lena Mahfouf, and Sarah Paulson.
Every year the stars turn out to make their mark on the Met Gala, and it rarely passes without some sort of incident.
