Mary-Kate Olsen - one-half of the former child actresses duo known as The Olsen Twins - has filed for divorce from her husband Pierre Olivier Sarkozy.

Olsen - who rose to fame in the 90s alongside her twin sister Ashley Olsen - is also alleging in legal papers that Sarkozy, 50, is kicking her out of their New York Home next Monday, despite the ongoing pandemic, Page Six reports.

The 33-year-old New York Minute star married the French banker - who is also the half-brother of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy - back in 2015, after the pair entered a relationship back in 2012.

But after filing for divorce on April 17, Olsen states in court papers filed in New York's Supreme Court: "It was clear my marriage was over […] the relationship has broken down irretrievably."

However, due to the pandemic, Olsen was informed that the New York courts were not accepting divorce filings.

Now, Olsen is seeking an emergency divorce petition after claiming that Sarkozy has "terminated the lease" on their New York City residence, without her consent. Olsen adds: "This application is an emergency because my husband expects me to move out of our home on Monday, May 18, 2020, in the middle of New York City being on pause due to COVID-19."

Olsen also claims that she had reached out to both her husband's attorney and her landlord begging to stay past May 30.

She adds: "I am petrified that my husband is trying to deprive me of the home we have lived in and if he is successful, I will not only lose my home but I risk losing my personal property as well."

The So Little Time star also said that due to the pandemic she is unable to "look for another apartment right now, let alone retrieve my separate property belongings and am gravely concerned my husband will dissipate, dispose of and/or secret." The court documents state that these items are not just Olsen's possessions, but couple's marital property as well.

In court papers dated May 13 and signed in East Hampton, Olsen states: "The relationship between [the two] has broken down irretrievably for a period of at least six months."

The actress and fashion designer is also requesting continued use of their sprawling Hamptons home in Bridgehampton, their main apartment in Gramercy, plus another apartment on E. 49th Street.

Olsen is also asking that the terms of their prenuptial agreement be enforced, and that Sarkozy maintain health and dental insurance for her.

An email sent by Sarkozy and dated May 3 was also attached to the filing, in which he allegedly states that his decision to end the lease on their Gramercy apartment was down to the fact he is "not in a position to extend it and/or pay additional rent".

An additional email from Sarkozy's attorney Adam Turbowitz to Olsen's attorneys states:

"Olivier advises he went to the NYC apartment yesterday and noticed that a number of items of personal property were removed from the apartment.

"While Olivier has no issue with Mary Kate taking what she wants/needs, he would like a list of what has been removed so that he can keep track of who has what for the overall personal property division."

Per The Mirror, Sarkozy was 42 and divorced with two children when the couple first started dating back in 2012.
