Miley Cyrus has penned an inspiring letter to her former alter-ego, Hannah Montana.

The 28-year-old musician took to her official Twitter account this week to share the handwritten note with her 46.2 million followers on Wednesday, March 24.

In it, Cyrus reflected on her time performing as her Disney Channel persona, in the wake of the popular teen sitcom's 15th anniversary.

Miley recently entertained her many fans with this Hannah Montana throwback video:

The letter in question reads: "Hi, Hannah - It’s been a while. Fifteen years to be exact. Since the first time, I slid those blonde bangs over my forehead in the best attempt to conceal my identity.

"Then slipped a puke-pink terry cloth robe with a bedazzled 'HM' over the heart. I didn’t know then... that is where you would live forever.

"Not just in mine, but in millions of people all around the world. Although you are considered to be an 'alter ego', in reality, there was a time when you held more of my identity in your glove than i did in my bare hands."

Cyrus continued:  "We had an equal exchange in which you provided a superlative amount of fame in return for the anonymity I could gift to you.

"But, a lot has changed since then. You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon + never brought me back down.

"I couldn’t have imagined when taping myself singing ‘I Love Rock N Roll’ against a white wall in my mom's friend's kitchen in Nashville, the name typed in marquee style letters on the front of a first draft script would make my wildest dreams a reality."

The star finished by writing: "Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor. I am indebted not only to you Hannah but to Any + everyone who believed in me from the beginning.

"You all have my loyalty + deepest appreciation until the end. With all sincerity I say Thank You!

"To Disney’s entire team, all fellow cast members, special guests, crew, agents + managers, Especially my Mommy who took me to every lesson + audition even when it required leaving town or making a cross country move which my siblings so selflessly underwent.

"Not a day goes by I forget where I came from. A building in Burbank, California with a room full of people with the power to fulfill my destiny. And that they did.

"They gave me you. The greatest gift a girl could ask for. I love you Hannah Montana. Forever, Miley. [sic]"

The official Twitter account of Hannah Montana then responded to Miley's note, retweeting it and writing: "Nice to hear from you @MileyCyrus. It’s only been a decade. [sic]"

A number of Miley's fans have since taken to the comments of her post to react to the letter.

For instance, one Twitter user wrote: "Miley, you've made my childhood by bringing Hannah to life. Lots of love to you both. [sic]"

Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "This show isn't even remotely the kind of thing I'm into anymore, but you know what? This letter was cute and wholesome, and I appreciate that it exists. [sic]"

Another person wrote: "I am slightly older than you but that did not stop me from watching and enjoying HM.

"And I am so grateful I chose to watch it as it introduced me to you, and I have loved you since then. I have seen you grow and evolve and become this genuine, strong, and amazing human being."

Finally, someone else added: "I'm not going to lie I still watch Hannah Montana.

"I'm so proud of you @MileyCyrus for getting through the hardships & pushing forward during the panic attacks & sickness... just to make your fans happy. Will never stop loving you. I've Been a fan since age 6, I'm 22 now. [sic]"
