Miley Cyrus admitted that she lied to her ex Liam Hemsworth for 10 years about when she lost her virginity.

The former couple met as teenagers on the set of the 2010 movie, The Last Song, which portrayed their love story on the big screen.

After the 31-year-old 'Party in the USA' hitmaker and the 34-year-old actor finished filming, they began dating between 2009 and 2013 and were also engaged for a while.

The pair broke up briefly and got back together in 2016. They then eventually tied the knot among family and friends in an intimate ceremony back in December 2018.

While speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Hannah Montana superstar disclosed that she was actually "attracted to girls way before [she] was ever attracted to guys".

“I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it, so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me," she said. “The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl - two of them."

She revealed that her first relationships went "past first base," and that she "didn't go all the way with a dude" until she was 16 years old.

“But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy," she said, basically confessing that she lost her virginity to the Australian actor.

However, the 'Midnight Sky' artist was worried that the Land of Bad star would consider her a "loser" for being a virgin so she told him she'd already lost her virginity to someone else.

“I couldn’t think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we’d never actually had sex before,” she said.

Cyrus "held on" to the lie for nearly a decade, but confessed to Hemsworth when one of his friends ended up marrying the man she claimed to have lost her virginity to.

"So then [Hemsworth] was like, ‘Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with'," she recalled. "So then - when I was like 24 - I had to say that I lied when I was 16.”

Hemsworth filed for divorce in August 2019, and the former couple eventually reached an official settlement in early 2020.

The 'Flowers' singer revealed in her TikTok video series 'Used To Be Young' that the moment she knew the couple's marriage wasn't going to work was during her Glastonbury Festival performance in June 2019.

She shared that while her and Hemsworth's initial commitment to being married "came from a place of love," it also came from a place of "trauma" after the November 2018 California wildfires destroyed their home.

"Me and Liam’s commitment to being married, of course, came from a place of love first because we had been together for 10 years, but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could," she said.

It was on the day that the Grammy-winning artist was set to take the stage that she realized that their dynamic "was no longer going to work in [her] life".

She also said that since then, she has begun to prioritize her needs as a human being above all else. "That was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first," she continued.

"I guess that’s why it’s now so important to me for that not to be the case - that the human comes first," she concluded.
