More than 70,000 people have signed a petition to rename Ronald Reagan Airport following support from Jojo Siwa.

The airport - located in Arlington, Virginia - was named after the late president back in 1998, per the Insider. However, thousands are now campaigning to have the airport renamed once again.

A man by the name of Dylan Long created a Change.org petition last month, writing in the description: "Why on earth is there an airport named after this war criminal".

Reagan, a former actor who served as the 40th POTUS between 1981 to 1989, has long been criticized for supporting Apartheid in South Africa and his administration's treatment of people in the LGBTQ+ community.

However, Long's petition isn't just calling for the Ronald Reagan Airport to be renamed - he has also offered a suggestion. Instead, the petition is calling for the airport to be renamed after former Dance Moms star and social media sensation, Jojo Siwa.

Eighteen-year-old Siwa has even spoken out in support of the petition - albeit, she did joke that she didn't know much about the former president.

Speaking to a TMZ reporter earlier this month, Siwa described the petition as "pretty sick."

The teenager added: "I obviously am on board with it," before adding, "I would take every flight out of there."

As of this writing, 72,235 people have signed the petition, with many signees sharing their reasons for signing on the page.

One person wrote: "Ronald Regan rigged the economy for the rich and screwed over everyone else. Jojo Siwa was on Dance Mom’s and I like her better. Plus she’s gay."

Another signee added: "Jojo Siwa is a role model for young girls, promotes self expression and freedom, and performs an infinitely more valuable service to the people of the United States then Reagan ever did."

Despite Siwa seemingly being unaware of the political and historical statement the petition is attempting to make, many have celebrated her recent decision to openly discuss her relationship with girlfriend Kylie Prew.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon back in February, Siwa said of her decision to publicly announce her same-sex relationship: "If I lost everything that I’ve created because of being myself and because of loving who I want to love I don’t want it, that’s not what.

"If I can’t love who I want to love, that’s one of the most important things to me."
