Actor Owen Wilson has never met his one-year-old daughter, according to her mother Varunie Vongsvirates.

Vongsvirates told the Daily Mail that the 50-year-old hasn't been involved "at all" in Lyla's life since she was born in October of last year. She did detail, however, that Wilson provides financial assistance.

"Owen has never met Lyla. Never. He helps financially but it's never been about that," she told the publication. "Lyla needs a father. It's ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter."

Vongsvirates was involved with the actor for five years prior to their split, and the Wedding Crashers star reportedly underwent a paternity test last year which determined that he was the father.

A source told US Weekly last year that Wilson "does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of [Lyla]."

Vongsvirates has broken her silence amidst Wilson taking on a slew of roles in which he portrays fathers; he played an expectant dad in the 2017 feature, Father Figures, and starred as a father in Wonder in the same year.

The mother told the Daily Mail that she had a message for Wilson: "You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you," she asserted.

Wilson is already a father of two. He shares eight-year-old Ford with his ex-girlfriend Jade Duell, and he also has a five-year-old named Finn, whose mother is fitness trainer, Caroline Lindqvist.

He has previously opened up about his relationship with his sons during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show. "Sometimes it feels like I’m already seeing how they’re gonna be as teenagers," he told the talk show host. "Where they’re gonna be ganging up on me."
