Elizabeth Olsen has become a stand-out star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans first got a glimpse of Olsen in the MCU in the post-credit scene for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. However, it wouldn't be until 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron that we got to see the star as the devastatingly powerful Wanda Maximoff.
Since then, we've seen Olsen's superhero go from being a Sokovian refugee experimented on by Hydra to being the all-powerful Scarlet Witch.
And after appearing in six MCU movies and a Disney+ spin-off series, you would think fans would know everything there is to know about 33-year-old Olsen.
However, despite the actor's last name being a pretty big giveaway to who she's related to, some people are only just realizing that Elizabeth Olsen is actually the sister of former 90s/00s child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Yes, after seeing Olsen's impressive performance in the recently released Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (fear not - no spoilers here), it turns out that after doing some digging around on the star, the proverbial penny has only just dropped for a small group of people.
Taking to Twitter to express their surprise, one person wrote: "OK.. so, not to sound like an idiot but I literally just realized like two days ago that Elizabeth Olsen is a sister to the Olsen twins."
A second added: "I was today years old when I realized that Elizabeth Olsen of WandaVision is the Olsen twins' younger sister."
And a third wrote: "I was today years old when I found out Elizabeth Olsen’s sisters are Mary-Kate and Ashley. I don’t live in a box. Just never connected the dots lol".
And it turns out this was quite a common realization:
Other fans were more surprised to find out that 33-year-old Elizabeth was actually younger than the 35-year-old twins (probably due to the fact she's taller than both of them):
In a recent interview with The Independent, the Marvel star spoke candidly about how she was in "awe" of her twin sisters, and how they've helped her navigate fame.
"I think my sisters are some of the most amazing people to look at, with what they've created for themselves and how they conduct themselves," Elizabeth said. "I'm really in awe of what they've built, and I do think that came from them having such a healthy perspective — and I could only benefit from that healthy perspective.
"I think it has informed how I conduct myself."
And if you're one of the few people who has only just discovered that the three sisters are all related, I guess it'll blow your minds to find out that there are six Olsen kids.
Elizabeth, Mary-Kate, and Ashely are all the daughters of David and Jarnette Olsen, who also have a son - the girls' older brother, Trent. David also has two children from his second marriage, Taylor and Jake.
