In the decade or so that he's been in the spotlight, Justin Bieber has undergone quite the change. He started off as a babyfaced heartthrob, blossomed into a wannabe badboy, before finally settling down as a reformed Christian and married man at the ripe old age of 25.

But he's not ready to distance himself from the music scene just yet.

Despite not having toured for over two years or having produced any new music for four, Biebs still has a huge following, and his fans are desperate for some new material. Unfortunately, he's still not up to the task - and he posted a lengthy Instagram post yesterday explaining why.

"So I read a lot of messages saying you want an album," Bieber began. "I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realized and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour."

The singer then went on to say that he was trying to focus on bettering himself as a person and a husband, and that he will return with a new album when he is ready. He also made references to his Christian beliefs, saying that "the king" has decided he should be at "the top".

Justin Bieber talks about 'Shark Week' as he live-streams with fans on Instagram:

"I have been looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do, I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be. Music is very important to me but Nothing comes before my family and my health.

"I will come with a kick ass album ASAP, my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable his love is supernatural his grace is that reliable.... the top is where I reside period whether I make music or not the king said so.  but I will come with a vengeance believe that.. (grammar and punctuation will be terrible pretend it’s a text where u just don’t care). [sic]"

Fans' reactions to his post were varied, with some people saying they hadn't really expected much from the star anyway, given his absence, and others expressing genuine concern for where his head is at right now.

Others, however, just poked fun at his use of the phrase, "My swag is undeniable".

Bieber hasn't elaborated any further on what his "deep rooted issues" are just yet, but he seems assured that he will conquer them and come back with new music. When that'll happen, we really don't know - but it sounds like we should keep one eye on this space, just in case he drops something new.
