Katy Perry sends message to fans after responding to Ruby Rose's sexual assault allegation
Katy Perry has given fans a concise message, after her team denied sexual assault allegations made by Ruby Rose against her.
Speaking on her Instagram story today (April 14), Perry, 41, simply wrote "i love you," accompanied by an image of her song 'By the Grace of God'.
The song is from her 2013 album, Prism, with lyrics including lines such as: "I picked myself back up" and: "Now I have to rise above / Let the universe call the bluff / Yeah the truth will set you free."
Perry's team have since responded to Rose's allegations, saying in a statement: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.
"Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Ruby Rose's sexual assault allegations against Katy Perry
Rose, best known for her acting roles in Orange Is The New Black and John Wick: Chapter 2, took to Threads on Sunday to make a number of claims about an alleged incident which took place in an Australian nightclub almost 20 years ago.
Replying to a post which shared an article about Perry attending Coachella, Rose wrote: “Katy Perry sexual assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s*** what she thinks.”
The 40-year-old claimed that it took place in her early 20s, which she said "shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes."
She added: “She didn’t kiss me. She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friends lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face till my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.
“After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how else to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret. But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by.. everyone."
Ruby Rose deletes allegations
The Aussie actress and model took to Threads today, telling fans that she has "finalized" reports to authorities, though this meant that she needed to delete any public comments she has made on the case.
Writing on her account, she said: "Hi! Last update on this:
"As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.
"It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages, to other people’s experiences, but I’m not.
"This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief.
"I can start the healing process now. And temporary move forward. (sic)
"I love you all so much," she concluded.
