Royal fans can't get over how much Princess Charlotte looks like the Queen when she was younger
From the moment they are born until the day they take their final breath, senior members of the Royal Family are in the public eye. While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are deviating from this by choosing not to publically announce the arrival of their first child the day they are born, there's no doubt the little Royal's life will be heavily documented.
As a result, unlike many other people from her generation, there are plentiful photographs of Queen Elizabeth's early years, and in the wake of Princess Charlotte's fourth birthday photoshoot, people have been comparing the two.
This is the hilarious moment Princess Charlotte sassed reporters:
Taken by Kate Middleton, the two of the three pictures feature the smiling four-year-old outside in a grey cardigan and tartan skirt. They were posted to the Royal Family's official Twitter account, Kensington Royal, to celebrate Charlotte's birthday.
And almost as soon as they were posted, Royal enthusiasts were quick to say that there was a resemblance between Charlotte and her grandmother, the Queen, when she was her age.
One Twitter user wrote: "She does really look like the queen doesn't she..!"
Another remarked: "Princess Charlotte reminds me of Queen Elizabeth II."
Whereas a third added: "She looks EXACTLY like the queen and definitely way more like William than Kate."
Alongside the three pictures, Kensington Palace wrote: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share three new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fourth birthday tomorrow.
"The photographs were taken in April by The Duchess at Kensington Palace and at their home in Norfolk."
The final picture of the four-year-old features her smiling while sitting down in a floral blue dress.
Charlotte's birthday, May 2, is close to her youngest brother Louis', who turned one on April 23.
Another Twitter user added: "I see a lot of Queen Elizabeth [in] her. I also see some of Princess Margaret's daughter Sarah."
What do you think? Is there a strong resemblance between Charlotte and her grandmother?
