Selena Gomez's mom hospitalized after row over daughter's relationship with Justin Bieber

When Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez first started dating back in 2011, they seemed like the product of a Disney movie romance. He was a talented young singer, she was a popular actress, both of them were teen superstars - what could possibly go wrong? Well, quite a lot, actually. The couple's relationship hit some rocky points, as many teen romances do, and the pair ended up parting ways in 2014. However, Bieber and Gomez have been spotted together again recently, and many people believe that they may be reconciling their relationship. After a three year break, fans of the couple were ecstatic to see them enjoying each other's company again. Selena's mom, on the other hand, was not best pleased. The publication also reported that the actress' family will "never forgive him or accept [Justin]", as they blame him for the couple's split back in 2014. In fact, TMZ went so far as to say that Bieber is a "huge trigger" for Gomez's family, and his involvement with Selena has caused a multitude of problems for them over the years. Most recently, Teefey was apparently taken to a welfare center in Los Angeles for a health check after she got into a "heated conversation" with her 25-year-old daughter. The argument was allegedly prompted by Teefey's discovery that Gomez and Bieber were becoming serious again. Meanwhile, Justin's mom seemed delighted to hear about their reunion. "And I’ve met her and we have a special bond so I think she’s precious." Justin himself is presumably very happy about the rekindled relationship, too, as he had often spoken fondly of Gomez even after they broke up. In 2015, he said their relationship was "magical." "There's nothing like it," he explained. "So I felt that and I just didn't want to let it go. When it was hard, I was just like, "I want to stick this out". So it was on again, off again, on again, off again." Since they parted, Gomez had made some digs at Bieber, and seemed to have moved on when she started dating The Weeknd. She's also had to deal with a lot of other changes recently - most notably the kidney transplant she had to undergo over the summer. No longer are they teenage sweethearts, but fully-grown adults with more self-awareness about how their relationship could affect their lives. Bieber canceled his tour dates earlier this year in order to focus on more important things in his life, and Gomez has clearly learned some important things through her relationships since the breakup. Though Mandy Teefey admitted to being "furious" about the couple's newfound affection for one another, her hospital visit was only voluntary, and came "at a family member's request" - so hopefully she is able to recover very soon.
