Sister Wives star Janelle Brown has tragically lost her son at just 25 years old, and has issued a heartbreaking statement.

Janelle took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the heartbreaking news, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their son, Robert Garrison Brown.

The same statement was also posted on her husband, Kody Brown's, account.

In her post, she wrote: "Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him.

"His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory."

Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE: "On 03/05/2024 Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home." The police confirmed that Garrison's brother Gabriel, 22, "discovered Mr. Brown deceased."

Lieutenant Hernandez continued: "At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating."

He stated Garrison was discovered by his brother after dying by an apparent suicide, though this is unconfirmed while investigations are ongoing.

TLC, the network behind Sister Wives, expressed their condolences, stating to PEOPLE: "We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown. We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Brown family at this difficult time."

Garrison was introduced to fans in 2010 through the TLC series, showcasing the day-to-day life of the polygamist family led by his parents Janelle and Kody, along with his siblings and Kody's other wives.

Janelle and Kody had six children together, including Garrison. In December 2022, Janelle announced their separation, becoming the second wife to leave after Christine. Meri also later revealed her departure from Kody, leaving Robyn as his sole remaining wife.

In recent times, Kody's relationship with his children has been strained, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gabriel expressed feeling disconnected from his father, while Janelle voiced concern about her son's mental health. Kody himself acknowledged the rift, expressing sadness over the distance that had grown between him and his boys.

"I think and hope that in time we'll just get over this and that we'll be safe being back around each other. Right now, there's not really an open door with Gabe and Garrison. They're they're not willing to engage me," Kody had shared in an episode aired in May 2023.

Our thoughts are with Garrison's loved ones during this difficult time.
