Sophie Turner has slammed anti-maskers by stating that if she could wear a face mask while giving birth, people can wear them "at Walmart".

The 24-year-old Game of Thrones star took to Instagram to address the controversy surrounding the wearing of face masks, which, despite being recommended by the CDC and many other medical experts, some people are still against.

Despite them preventing virus particles from spreading in public spaces, some people have argued that the wearing of masks is an infringement on their personal freedoms, even though they are largely required when entering public places.

"If I can wear a mask while I give birth, you can wear a mask at Walmart," she said, according to Page Six. "And that's the tea."

Turner became a mom for the first time back in July along with husband Joe Jonas, 31, after she gave birth to daughter Willa.

Turner and Jonas live in a hotspot for the pandemic, Los Angeles, and a regional stay-at-home order was recently enacted by Governor Gavin Newsom when capacity in certain intensive care units fell below 15% in some parts of Califonia, Fox News reports.

Turner has previously opened up about what life was like in quarantine with her husband.

Appearing on Conan at Home in April, the actress said that she has been opting for comfortable outfits while quarantining at home, frequently wearing sweatpants.

"I mean, this is something that's only kind of come to my attention since this quarantine thing, but I saw… it was like a meme online or some comment or something and someone said, like, ‘If you’re wearing denim pants at home, like, what does that say about you as a person?'" she said. "Like, are you a psychopath? And Joe does that."

The actress added: "Joe wears denim trousers at home - where no one can see him. I'm not wearing denim trousers. This is the most dressed up I've been in days."
