It looks like Ben Affleck should just stick to acting after his guest appearance at The Roast of Tom Brady was - ironically - roasted by viewers.

Following the live stream and subsequent release of Netflix's comedy special The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, viewers have been left dissecting the chaos of the evening.

From Brady telling Jeff Ross not to joke about Patriots' boss Robert Kraft to Kim Kardashian getting mercilessly booed by the live crowd, it was a night full of laughs and unexpected surprises.

And one moment that certainly was an unexpected surprise - although, not full of laughs - was when 51-year-old Affleck took to the stage.

The Batman star may have missed the memo when it came to “roasts”, because the majority of his seven-minute set was just him criticizing trolls on social media. (Now, while I think we can all agree that “keyboard warriors” are the worst part of social media, many viewers just felt like Tom Brady’s roast wasn’t the time or place to address the situation.)

Check out a snippet below (Warning - the video does contain some strong language):

Much of Affleck’s material was targeted toward a critical social media user, with the actor saying: "Meanwhile, Tom and all these guys up here, you always hear them say, 'It's all about the fans. We do it for the fans.' Well, let me let you in on a little secret… Tom could do it without you!"

“You're talking sh*t behind your AOL account in suburban Buffalo [...] [Brady] has seven rings. You took seven years to get your GED,” Affleck continued. “This is the NFL! You'd be in the f*cking hospital if you stepped on the field for one play!”

And Affleck went on (and on): “"You sit there, f*cking hiding behind your keyboard, spewing out all this f*cking toxic sh*t about people you'd be afraid to come up to if you saw them at the car wash [...] You guys out there talking sh*t, all right behind your f*cking keyboard, that doesn't make you a fan. That makes you a b*tch."

It was a rather venom-filled stumbling monologue that felt more spurred on by Affleck’s own issues with social media trolls than anything to do with Brady.

And viewers couldn’t help but agree, as some even branded the actor’s set the “worst of the night”.

One X user wrote: “I don’t think Ben Affleck understood the assignment…”

“Ben Affleck going on an unhinged rant about fans on social media at the Tom Brady roast was not on my bingo card,” another added

“Ben Affleck had the worst set of the entire Tom Brady roast, never invite him back,” tweeted a third.

“Ben Affleck just absolutely bombed on the Tom Brady roast,” another wrote. “Jeff Ross said he wished there was commercials after his set [...] he literally went up and cried about fans talking s**t on social media for 5 minutes.”

"What is Ben Affleck going on about? This is terrible," another disappointed viewer added.

Again, I'm not saying that I don't agree with what Affleck was saying, but when Kim Kardashian is delivering better jokes than Batman at a celebrity roast, you know something's gone wrong.
