Last night's Critics' Choice awards may not have had Ricky Gervais tearing the Hollywood elite a new one, but one star certainly did leave jaws on the floor and Twitter in awe.

I am, of course, talking about Zendaya's stunning "futuristic" outfit on the famous blue carpet - an outfit which many believe resulted in her stealing the limelight from A-list names like Jennifer Lopez and Joaquin Phoenix.

In case you missed it, these were the most scathing moments from Ricky Gervais' opening monologue at the 2020 Golden Globes:

Donning a full ensemble from designer Tom Ford’s Spring 2020 collection, 23-year-old former Disney star was also nominated in the 'Best Actress in a Drama Series' category for her role in the controversial teen drama, Euphoria.

Dressing for what could have been the 3020 Critics' Choice Awards, the Greatest Showman star was dressed head-to-toe in one of Tom Ford's signature looks - the 'naked dress' - which plays with the idea that the wearer is actually starkers, with just mesh or a heavy dose of reveal and conceal.

Comprised of a fuchsia pink breastplate (which costs an eye-watering $15,000) and maxiskirt, social media soon exploded with praise for the futuristic look.

One Twitter user is awe of Zendaya asked: "How does Zendaya exist ?? Like how is she a real person?????!??!??"

And another user simply wrote: "God really outdid himself when he gave us this goddess!"

If you haven't seen it yet, you NEED to check out Euphoria:

Even fellow MCU star Gwyneth Paltrow - who wore the same breastplate on the front cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine - gushed over Zendaya, commenting on a picture of the Euphoria star: "Thank God I can say I have something in common with Zendaya."

Zendaya did share a picture of the look with her 64 million Instagram followers, and clearly knew the look was so iconic that she didn't even provide a caption.

Sadly, Zendaya didn't take home the Critics' Choice award, as it was won by Regina King for her role in Watchmen. Still, she undoubtedly took home the award for best dressed.
