Dish or Dare is certainly not a show for people with a weak stomach.

In our most recent challenges, VT sat down with celebs Chris Kamara, Vanessa Feltz, and Gregg Wallace and gave each of them a choice between eating a vulgar dish or doing a dare and the results were entertaining, to say the least.

In partnership with Sensodyne, we put the stars’ taste buds to the test - all while identifying the key triggers for tooth sensitivity; hot, cold, sweet, and sour.

Serving up some truly stomach-churning dishes and some very questionable dares, this was a challenge none of these stars will ever forget.

First up was Chris Kamara, who landed on "Cold". His dish? A 100-year-old egg ice cream, which didn't particularly sound appetizing to the iconic sports commentator, nor to host Jamie.

The dare wasn't any better, with Jamie asking Chris to wax off his legendary mustache. It was a firm no, with “Kammy” telling Jamie: "This tache means more to me than my wife."

While the ice cream wasn't deemed too horrible, the egg was apparently "intense"...

When the spinner eventually landed on "hot", Chris was faced with a nuclear veggie Phal curry. Once again, Kammy also wasn't keen on the dare, which was to call up one of his ex-clubs and ask why he doesn't have a statue there.

"People don't even realize I played, never mind the statue," he exclaimed.

Chris opted for the veggie Phal curry and unsurprisingly, it was "HOT".

Then, we dared Gregg Wallace to try some truly rotten dishes - all in the name of tooth sensitivity!

The Masterchef host landed on "hot" and was presented with an old egg cappuccino. which hit him like a "wall of ammonia".

"No that’s not good, no that’s not good,” said Gregg. "The cappuccino wasn’t so bad, as you can’t taste the egg underneath the bitter coffee. That’s the only egg I’ve tasted that has a cheddar finish."

Next up was a jellied eel sorbet, which he went for again. "No, that's horrendous and the issue is that ice in your mouth makes you think of something nice, the fish flavor itself isn’t that bad, the problem is that it’s preceded by ice."

Finally, Gregg landed on "sweet" and was given a "sickie toffee pudding". This incarnation of the popular dessert was made with durian, which, as he correctly pointed out, is the smelliest fruit in the world and has the nickname "vomit fruit".

This was a dish too far, and Gregg's dare was to call up a celebrity mate, and ask them to co-host his new show, "Gregg's Pegs" — which is a show where he would travel the country on a mission to find the UK's best clothes pegs.

Gregg called chef Marcus Wareing, and, somewhat surprisingly, the Michelin-starred chef was down for what sounds like an incredibly boring show.

Lastly, we had Vanessa Feltz. The beloved presenter's first spin of the wheel landed on “sweet”, and she was prematurely pleased.

"Christmas and my birthday all at once. I’m hoping for chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, crepe suzette, trifle," she said. Oh, how wrong she was...
Sadly, she was served up "sickie toffee pudding," like Gregg before her. "It's like dipping your spoon into a big lump of manure," she said, while Jamie corroborated: "It's very sweet but with a rich aroma of nauseating puke."

Round two, and Vanessa landed on “cold”. The living legend was served a 100-year-old egg ice cream. "That looks absolutely disgusting," she exclaimed. "Stomach charmingly revolting."

Her dare was to call a celebrity in her phone book and to tell them that she had an idea for a spin-off morning show, called "Tomorrow Evening", where she and her co-host would predict what the news would be the following evening.

Vanessa decided to ring her Radio 2 buddy, Sara Cox, who wasn't exactly convinced...

Finally, she landed on “sour”. "This is the least favorite of my whole lot," she said upon seeing her dish, which was called "fizzy fish", and consisted of soured sardines.

She ate them nonetheless, looking truly disgusted as she said it was "really, really revolting."

"It tastes like that highly acidic vinegar that you put a pickled egg in but with a massive, horrible, soggy lump of fish in it," she concluded.
Not exactly a glowing review!

Of course, as well as this game being all good fun, this challenge was also to highlight the issues hot, cold, sweet and sour foods can cause people with sensitive teeth.
