A controversial trailer for the new Lifetime movie Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace, has received a very strong reaction on social media.
The film is centered around the pair's exit from the Royal Family, and viewers got a first look earlier this year when they were introduced to its synopsis and Jordan Dean and Sydney Morton as Prince Harry and Megan Markle.
"Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will explore what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie," the synopsis read, cited by Metro.

Meghan replies: "I am the person who is strong and gets things right. I can't lose you."
While the pair both use very convincing British and American accents, social media users were divided over the trailer for the upcoming film, with many rushing to Twitter to brand it an embarrassment, while others defended it.

A second added: "In a world devastated by the pandemic, this is what Lifetime comes up with??? Btw Harry could quit his royal titles and position since day one and retired to live a private life, but he [refused]."
A third wrote: "For the love of God if the real version wasnt bad enough they now bring out the sodfing movie version SOMEONE MAKE IT STOP [sic]."
A fourth added: "Omg I can’t stop cringing. That’s got to be the biggest cringe-fest since Galloway was a cat on big brother."
But not everyone was critical of the trailer, as some viewers admitted to looking forward to seeing the movie.

A second added: "Y'all play too much! I will be watching!"
A third wrote alongside a smiling emoji: "Gonna definitely watch this, can't wait."
