There's no doubt that Friends is still one of the most iconic TV shows ever made, and even decades later, we can still appreciate how groundbreaking the sitcom was from the outset.

One of the most memorable aspects of the series was its opening titles, with its catchy theme tune, and shots of the cast frolicking in a fountain at night.

But now former cast member Courteney Cox has opened up about the making of the show and specifically shared what filming that intro was really like.

Watch Courteney Cox's interview with Ellen in the video below:

In a recent appearance on Ellen Degeneres' eponymous talk show, the 52-year-old actress spoke about the show ahead of the highly-anticipated upcoming reunion special.

Courteney stated: "We were in that fountain for a long time. Someone thought that would be fun and let me tell you what happened: it's not fun to be dancing in a fountain for hours and hours."

Take a look at the show's classic intro in the video below:

She added: "I remember Matthew Perry saying at one point - and we didn't know each other that well at that point - but I remember, and this is so Matthew, but he was like: 'Can't remember a time that I wasn't in this fountain.'

"Literally, we were just like: 'How much longer are we going to pretend to love dancing in water?' But it was fun... but not really."

Cox then spoke about how emotional the experience of filming the reunion had been, stating that it was the first time that the entire cast had been together on the same sound stage in over 15 years.

The Scream star then spoke about what it was like having Ellen as her new roommate after the 63-year-old comedian and her wife Portia De Rossi moved in with Cox temporarily while moving out of their old house in Beverly Hills.

She stated that, although she was enjoying the experience, she was nervous about the decor of her property, due to the fact that Degeneres is her "style guru."
