Fans of the Twilight saga are convinced that a new book is on its way after author Stephenie Meyer shared a cryptic post. The post came in the form of a mysterious countdown on Meyer's website, which is set to end on May 4.

Fans of the hit four-book Twilight series have now gone into a frenzy, convinced that the 46-year-old novelist is about to release the long-awaited Twilight partner book, Midnight Sun.

In the video below, Robert Pattinson says that a lot of things in the Twilight world don't make sense:

Told from the perspective of Edward Cullen, who was played by British actor Robert Pattinson in all five movies, Midnight Sun is the narrative opposite from the first four books, which are told from the perspective of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).

However, in a blog post, Meyer revealed that there was "a lot more" to Edward's story than what was revealed in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.

In the post, the author wrote: "There is so much more to his side of the story than there is to Bella's in that first chapter.

"After all, Bella only knows that an incredibly gorgeous boy is looking at her funny. Meanwhile, Edward is suffering through one of the most momentous days of his very long life.

"First there's the shock and frustration of not being able to hear Bella’s thoughts, then the wild, monstrous reaction to her scent, followed by the incredible expenditure of self-control that it takes to not kill her … His side of Bella's first day at Forks High School is a hundred times more exciting than her own.

"Though I didn’t have time to work on it right away, the idea of letting Edward have his chance to speak stuck with me."

These are some of the best fan reactions to the countdown on Twitter:

Well, I guess we will just have to wait until May 4...
