Captain Marvel star and all-around badass Avenger Brie Larson trended worldwide on Twitter last night after sending Jimmy Kimmel Live viewers into a frenzy with her 'revealing' outfit choice.

Kimmel was unable to host his popular ABC talk show due to the fact he was out hosting the 'Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family & Good Times' special, so Larson happily stepped in as guest host to interview her Just Mercy co-star Jamie Foxx and 90 Day Fiance star Molly Hopkins.

Check out the hilarious moment Jamie and Brie broke into song:

However, fans left jaws firmly on the floor as she rocked a low-cut dress that oozed old Hollywood glamor.

The 30-year-old actress kicked off her opening monologue by bringing up the "the big story of the day" and "important issues" that are "dividing us like never before". However, instead of discussing President Trump's impeachment, Larson revealed she was actually talking about the Cats movie flop.

Tearing into the movie, Larson joked:

"This is really big, you know? This is the year we will finally get the chance to sit in a dark room with strangers and watch Sir Ian McKellen poop in a box.

"I can just imagine some executive thought: 'Cats - they're adorable, but you know what they're missing? Boobs. Weird cat-boobs.'"

However, it wasn't Larson's jokes people were going crazy for - it was her dress, and very quickly #BrieLarson was trending worldwide.

However, despite getting a lot of admiration from many , there were several Twitter users who felt like the actress was being "objectified" by "thirsty" and "hypocritical" men:

One irked Twitter user wrote: "#BrieLarson is trending for gross sexist objectification reasons so let’s make it trend instead because she’s awesome, a great actress, and made MRAs and incels online lose their goddamn minds this year."

Another Twitter user referenced some of the criticism Larson faced from her role as Captain Marvel, saying: "So #brielarson is trending because apparently the jackasses who thought Brie was "too manly" and "didn't smile enough" in #CaptainMarvel are suddenly realizing she's *stunning*?"

Following the show, Brie tweeted to her 1.9 million Twitter followers some of her highlights from the show, writing, "Your Pokémon grew to level Late-Night-Talk-Show-Host".

No matter what you thought of her dress, I'm sure we can all agree that Larson should get a permanent talk show in the near future.
