Brie Larson had an emotional moment during a red carpet interview at the 2024 Golden Globes - and fans are gushing over how "relatable" the actress is.

On Sunday (January 7) night, the 81st Golden Globes took place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, with some of the top winners of the night including Oppenheimer, The Bear, and Succession.

The 34-year-old Oscar-winning actress attended the ceremony as she was nominated for her performance in Apple TV's Lessons in Chemistry in the 'Best Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television' category.

Before the event commenced, the Captain Marvel star was chatting with Entertainment Tonight, excitedly telling the interviewer: "It's the chance of a lifetime. You’re just surrounded by legends everywhere you look. I mean, I was just standing there, and Oprah walked by me."

While the Oscar winner attempted to remind herself that she’s "not in a dream," she was completely taken aback by the 54-year-old 'Jenny from the Block' singer who was standing behind her.

“Oh my god," a frantically starstruck Larson said, before turning around and closing her eyes in complete awe. "I’m gonna cry. I can't deal with J.Lo."

Finally face to face with Lopez, who was sporting a stunning pink gown, Larson emotionally said: "You mean so much to me!" while the 'Let's Get Loud' singer returned the compliment by revealing that she was also a "huge fan".

The Room actress tried to compose herself as she explained to JLo that her 1997 film Selena made her "want to be an actor," adding: "You've always meant so much to me."

"Your work ethic is so important," she continued. "Thank you. I've been wanting to say that to you for a long time so I'm really - I didn't think it was going to be right now. OK. I'm gonna have to go do a shot of tequila or something."

"You’re going to make me cry!" Lopez replied as the two held hands before embracing again.

Once Larson had left, the 'I'm Real' musician told the publication: "It’s amazing. She brought up the movie Selena, that so many years later still touches people. It’s very moving to me, too."

Fans couldn’t get over the heartwarming interaction between the two stars, as one person commented on YouTube: "What a lovely moment. How many of us get the chance to meet people we look up to and admire from afar? I haven’t always liked Brie Larsen’s work but that was so beautiful and relatable."

Another user praised: "Wow, didn't expect for this to get so emotional. You can see it means a lot for Brie Larson to be surrounded by people she has massive respect for, and at the same time, JLo was taken by surprise to hear how someone in the industry respects her so much. You could see her eyes getting watery."

A third shared: "Okay, I was crying too. That was such a sweet thing to do by Brie. I can tell JLo got as emotional. Imagine after never being recognized with awards, hearing an Academy Award winner say they got into acting bc of your performance... That's the real measure of talent right there, moving the generations that come after you!"

A fourth added: "This is such an incredible moment! Love both of these women making it big in the industry."

Lopez attended the Golden Globes with her husband, Ben Affleck, whose movie Air was nominated for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The film lost to Yorgos Lanthimos's Poor Things.

Meanwhile, Larson lost her nomination to Ali Wong who starred as Amy Lau in Netflix's Beef.
